Game Concept

You are the wizard who invented necromancy. After dying in a failed conquest of hell, you unleashed lost souls into the world. Revived by your own magic, you must now fight undead horrors you created. Explore a decaying dark fantasy realm, uncover your villainous legacy, and decide whether to redeem yourself or reclaim your power.


Core Mechanics

  • Orb Combat: Swap elemental abilities (fire/ice/shadow) to fend off enemies.

  • Customization System: Combine gear pieces (orbs/robes/hats) for unique builds.

  • Roguelike Progression: Unlock new upgrades across permadeath runs.

  • Hybrid Combat: Manage melee swarms while dodging bullet-hell projectiles.


Design Goals & Process

  • Introduce mechanics gradually: Early enemies teach orb combos, late-game bosses combine all elements.

  • Balance challenge with clarity: Clear telegraphs for enemy attacks ensure fair difficulty.

  • Optimized Intensity: Low-poly art ensures smooth performance during 100+ enemy encounters.

  • Reinforce theme through gameplay: Enemy designs blends with story of protagonist.


My Contribution

As Enemy & Combat Designer:


  • Swarmers: Fast zombies that rush the player, requiring crowd control

  • Archer acolytes: Ranged acolytes that create bullet-hell patterns

  • Bone Ragers: Armored tanks that absorb damage and disrupt positioning

  • Undead Commander: Multi-phase necromancer fights testing combat mastery
