
Devils In The Light
This game was created in December 2022 for a game jam hosted by Bahçeşehir University. The theme for the jam was “Devil in the Detail.”
Game Concept
The core objective is simple: Eliminate all devils in the level. However, the twist is that players can only destroy colorful devils. To defeat the other devils, the player must switch between red and blue lights, Making devils vulnerable so they can be destroyed.
Additional Challenge
The game includes hidden traps that teleport the player back to the starting point. These traps are not immediately obvious because trap platforms only little below from normal ones, so careful observation and memorization become key to progression. This reinforces the concept of “details matter".
Design Goals & Process
Theme Integration: The theme “Devil in the Detail” inspired the visibility mechanic. By making some devils only visible and vulnerable under specific light conditions.
Player Experience: The teleport traps were introduced to highlight the puzzle feature without relying on direct attemp, encouraging players to think before acting.
Development: Built within the game jam timeframe, I focused on creating a minimal but polished experience that felt thematic and challenging.
